I love Instagram competitions. In the past couple of months, I’ve managed to win two vouchers (R3000 from River Island and R5000 from Salsa). Below are my tips on how to become a winner.
Firstly, you need to follow fashion brands relevant to your county. You will be able to know the brand itself better and be the first to know when competitions are taking place. Brands that have just opened a new store or come into the country are a good place to start looking.
Most Instagram competitions require a changing room selfie. Keep in mind that the image you use may need to be used for further promotions and so it needs to be in line with the brand. Choose an outfit that works for your body and one that will stand out. When taking the photo, don’t use a flash as this won’t look good with the mirror’s refection and make sure the photo is not at any angle. When you post the image, don’t add in quotes or over edit the image. Use the hashtag appropriate to the competition and tag the company in your photo.
Instagram competitions are less a bout luck and more about putting in the effort. With the use of hashtags, you can easily and repeatedly monitor your competition, which can also be very useful so take advantage of this.
